If you've been watching the weather, so have we. And this afternoon brings good news (of great joy...). It is cloudy, but there is no sign of rain and we will proceed with tonight's performance of The Passion of Christ.
It is cool and breezy, so bring a jacket. Admission is free, and there is a concession stand with hot dogs, sausage, drinks, hot chocolate, etc, so that you can come and grab a snack or have supper by the lake before the show.
See you tonight!

Passion of the Christ Opens Tomorrow
Today is the final day of our preparation for this year's production of The Passion of Christ. This annual passion play is held outside at the Amphitheater at the Lake, behind Lake Palestine United Methodist Church in Chandler, Texas. Due to the nature of... well, being out in nature, so to speak, we pay close attention to the weather.
Currently we are planning to present The Passion of Christ as published, on Friday April 4th, Saturday April 5th, and Sunday April 6th, at 7 p.m. We will be posting here regularly about any weather concerns.
Today's forecast shows good weather for Friday and Saturday, with a chance of rain on Sunday. If it rains here in the late afternoon, we will post accordingly. Otherwise, come join us on any of these nights.

The 2014 Season is Here!
The 2014 performance of the East Texas Production of the Passion of Christ will be held at 7 p.m. on April 4-6, 2014 at the Amphitheater on the Lake, behind Lake Palestine United Methodist Church in Chandler. We hope that this year's production will build upon the history of this community's efforts to share the Gospel story of Christ's life, death and resurrection.
Lake Palestine United Methodist Church is the host church of this ecumenical production, and it is the producer's desire to include new faces along with those who have participated in this for many years.
We will be holding AUDITIONS for this season on JANUARY 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lake Palestine UMC. We invite you to come and help us fill out the cast with speaking and non-speaking roles for both men and women. Please bring your friends to join you in this opportunity for fun and for sharing the good news with our neighbors.

The Performance Draws Near
As of today, there are only 11 days until our first performance of The Passion of Christ. Our cast and crew have been hard at work with rehearsals, set building, and prop gathering, all in an effort to give their very best as they tell the story of Christ's passionate and sacrificial love for all people.
This year's show has grown a bit since last year, and we hope that our friends and neighbors will return to see this year's new production and bring friends who have yet to see the show. We encourage you to come early and enjoy a picnic on the grounds. We have a concession stand that is selling a variety of food and drinks. You can sit in the bench seating area or bring lawn chairs.
This free event is the perfect place to come and hear a beautiful story, surrounded by the beauty of creation. We recommend that you watch the weather. If it is cool, be sure to bring blankets.
