Sunday's Performance is Canceled

Saturday night's performance had a spectacular ending.  During the crucifixion, the script says that there was a great thunderstorm.... and there was.  As the cast portrayed Christ's crucifixion, God's thunderstorm was lighting up the sky in the distance.  But the storm held off until the glorious resurrection scene, and the final words of the play.

The weather today is forecast as rain and thunderstorms all day long, and it is raining hard here at the church this morning.  For those who were planning on coming to tonight's production, please keep us in mind for next year.  Check this webpage in February 2015 to find out the production dates for then.

Thank you to all those who came out to watch and shared in this special time with us.

Saturday's Performance

If you've been watching the weather, so have we.  And this afternoon brings good news (of great joy...).  It is cloudy, but there is no sign of rain and we will proceed with tonight's performance of The Passion of Christ.

It is cool and breezy, so bring a jacket.  Admission is free, and there is a concession stand with hot dogs, sausage, drinks, hot chocolate, etc, so that you can come and grab a snack or have supper by the lake before the show.

See you tonight!

Passion of the Christ Opens Tomorrow

Today is the final day of our preparation for this year's production of The Passion of Christ.  This annual passion play is held outside at the Amphitheater at the Lake, behind Lake Palestine United Methodist Church in Chandler, Texas.  Due to the nature of... well, being out in nature, so to speak, we pay close attention to the weather.

Currently we are planning to present The Passion of Christ as published, on Friday April 4th, Saturday April 5th, and Sunday April 6th, at 7 p.m.  We will be posting here regularly about any weather concerns.

Today's forecast shows good weather for Friday and Saturday, with a chance of rain on Sunday.  If it rains here in the late afternoon, we will post accordingly.  Otherwise, come join us on any of these nights.
